Jackson Hole, Wyoming

    Where to Stay?

Teton Village or Jackson? It all comes down to whether you are an activity/outdoorsy/nature person or a foodie/night life/bar person. You can do it all since they arent far away from each other but pick Teton Village if you care more about activities/outdoorsy/nature and pick Jackson Hole if you want to party/have night life etc.

    • Four Seasons in Teton Village for splurge hotel
    • Alpenhof Lodge in Teton Village for an affordable hotel in a great area
    • Check out airbnb if you are going as a family or with a big group

    Must Do Activities

    • Fly Fishing: choose the half day fly fishing excursion with Snake River Fly fishing; we went fly fishing on Green River (but heard Snake River is also amazing) and started in the Hobock Canyon. While wading is the classic option, we thought fly fishing on the boat was an incredible experience because of all the different scenic views we got to experience along our boat ride. Four hours of insane views and pure bliss. You will need to get a fishing license online, very easy and Snake River Fly Fishing company will send you emails with this ahead of time.
    • Hiking the Grand Tetons: We chose the Cascade Canyon Trail starting at Jenney Lake as our hike to experience the Grand Tetons. Started at Jenney Lake visitor center, followed the Cascade Canyon Trail signs, found the Hidden Falls, hiked more to see Inspiration Point (!!), and then took a boat ride back to Jenney Lake Visitor Center. We then drove to Jackson Lake to experience the views -- there's not much to do here as we didnt have access to any boats etc. but it was our most stunning view/picture from the trip. Pack lunch and eat it on the doc! If you have an extra day to do another hike, we heard great things about Delta Lake hike -- needs to be later on in the season for the snow and ice to melt otherwise need spikes.
    • Electric Biking from Teton Village to Jackson back to Teton Village to Grand Tetons: we rented electric bikes at the Four Seasons, found the bike path running alongside the streets to Jackson, locked our bikes once we got into town at a bike rack, walked around town and grabbed a coffee (could get breakfast at D.O.G or a beer at Cowboy Bar as alternative options), and then got back on the bike and rode all the way back to Teton Village and into Grand Teton (need your national park pass with you). This was one of the best ways to experience the outdoors and all of the beauty.
    • Jackson Hole Rodeo: we had the absolute best time at the Rodeo, would prioritize this over a fancy dinner if limited time in your trip at night. Make sure you look up what nights the Rodeo occurs (Wednesdays and Saturdays when we went), so you dont miss it!
    • Horse Back Riding: We rode on horseback throughout the Grand Teton National Forest at Heart Six Ranch. This is a great option for familys or first time horse back riders, but otherwise wouldnt need to do again.

    Favorite Restaurants and Bars

    • Mangy Moose (Teton Village): best apres ski spot in the winter in Teton Village; we went for a casual and fun dinner and had the best time; it's bar food but there's live music and fun vibes.
    • Cowboy Bar (Jackson): fun bar in Jackson that has saddles for stools at the bar; a must do!
    • Snake River Grill (Jackson): upscale dining option that came highly recommended to us
    • Piste Mountain Restaurant (Teton Village): take a Gondala to the top of the mountain for dinner here; you are paying for the view and experience over a culinary dining experience but we loved our meals and cocktails.
    • Gun Barrell (Jackson): good dining option in Jackson Hole; we went before the Rodeo as they were both pretty close to each other.
    • D.O.G (Jackson): best breakfast burritos in Jackson Hole
